How can I nominate a team?
We welcome nominations of teams, individuals, coaches and volunteers. You can find the nomination form on the Nomination page here
How will I know if my nomination is successful?
You and your nominee will be notified by a representative of the Board. Details of the Induction Gala and Dinner will be delivered to you at that time. If your nomination requires more information, a member of the nomination committee will contact you. Please make sure your contact is current.
What information is required in a nomination?
We like to say, don't be afraid to brag about your nominee. The more we have the better. You will find an outline on nomination form but please feel free to go over and above the basics. Really let us know who they are, what they were able to accomplish and if possible, where they are now and what they plan to accomplish still. Their community involvement is a great area to focus on too.
Is there a cost to nominate?
Absolutely not. There is no charge to nominate anyone or any team. However if your nomination is successful, The nominee receives 2 complementary tickets to the Induction Gala and Dinner. There will be a charge for additional tickets.
Is this Sports Hall owned by Norfolk County?
That is a common question. No the Norfolk County Sports Hall of Recognition is a Not for Profit volunteer organization who's purpose it to promote and celebrate sport in Norfolk. We do however receive assistance with some events and office management. Our displays are displayed on Norfolk County Property ( The Annalise Carr Aquatic Centre) at no charge.
Is there a charge to see the displays?
No. There is no charge for anyone to view and enjoy the displays at the Norfolk County Sports Hall of Recognition at the Annalise Carr Aquatic Centre.
We are very fortunate to have the support of Norfolk County who allows us to showcase all the memorabilia and artifacts there. To present our events to the community we rely on personal donations and business support.
What sports are represented?
If it's a sport we love it!! We welcome nominations from every sport imaginable! Even Pickleball!
Can I donate items to display?
You certainly can. Contact us teams@norfolkcountysportshall.ca. Your items will be taken into consideration. If displayed, they will be cared for and returned to you.
